MiA Festival Archives
The first ever Music is Art Festival was held in the parking lot of Robby’s studio with two stages, over two days. Over the years it has seen several different homes. When it was clear it had outgrown the parking lot on Franklin Street, it moved to the lawn at the Albright Knox Art Gallery, then into the neighboring Delaware Park by Hoyt Lake. After many years of an unkind Mother Nature the decision was made to move it “mostly” inside to Buffalo Riverworks. From Riverworks it then grew also across the Buffalo River to Ohio Street and River Fest Park. And now for the past couple of years it has found a new place at the Buffalo Outer Harbor and Terminal B.
Several factors go into the decision of where it will be each year, and while we know everyone has their favorite spot, rest assured that our team is committed to keeping the festival free to attend for our community.
