Forever in Our Hearts - Ryan Casullo
Board Chair Extraordinare
It is with a heavy heart that I must tell you of the death of our MiA board chairman and my good friend Ryan Casullo. Ryan was killed in a motorcycle accident this weekend leaving behind his wife and 2 young children.
Ryan came to MiA with grand visions of growth for the organization and motivated us all to strive for greater things.
We will surely miss his upbeat attitude, his love for loud guitars, and his willingness to give of himself for the benefit of others, he was truly a special person.
We wish the best for his family and pray that eventually, in time, they may move forward proudly knowing the great man their father/husband was, and how he constantly strived to have a positive affect of the lives of so many here in WNY.
We'll miss you Ryan.
Music is Art lost a great friend and leader.
Ryan Casullo was our board chair for the past 6 years. His enthusiasm and dedication were immeasurable. For Ryan it was all about giving the next generation access to music, whether he was picking up a truck-load of instruments, helping our high school Battle winners find opportunities for exposure, or introducing us to new friends who could assist with our mission, he always had Music is Art in his heart and the top of his mind.
For me, he was much more than a board chair, he was like my little brother. We spoke almost daily, always excited to tell me about his newest idea or about the great person he just met. He bragged about his own children constantly, telling me just Friday night that his young daughter finally mastered the rock horns, “pinky and pointer, pinky and pointer…I finally got it!”
He was a great leader, kind soul, and generous man. I’m not sure how I will move forward with Music is Art without him, except to do it FOR him.
