Music is Art in conjunction with GCR Audio Recording Studios announces Rob Price — Paintings, etc.
Inhabiting Robby Takac’s GCR Studios on Friday, April 6th,
Rob Price — Paintings, etc. will encompass 40 years of abstract paintings completed since Price’s last gallery showing in 1978. Accompanying live entertainment will include a live studio recording session featuring the Low Lamp Sessions, featuring Terry Sullivan and David Kane performing underground classics and originals. Spoken word interludes will be provided by Irene Sipos.
Rob Price has made art since stepping on a crayon as a toddler.
He received a BFA from the University at Buffalo. His last formal art show was in the Essex Street complex in 1978 when Hallwalls and CEPA were in their formative years. Price has enjoyed an accomplished career as an award winning graphic designer, and many of his logos and brand identities are recognizable worldwide. He has taught design at SUNY at Buffalo, and has had a lifelong passion for making art and designing objects for no other purpose than to realize his vision. His “first in forty years” gallery showing will showcase both figurative and abstract work from the past and the present.
Additional private viewings of his work are available by appointment. Artwork is available for purchase. Complimentary beverages provided.
This event is free and open to the public.
