Incorporated in 2004, The Music is Art Foundation strives to promote and educate music and art within the community and schools throughout the year. Programs include (not limited to):

High School Awareness Tour
Music based motivational assembly focusing on personal responsibility. To date the tour has been invited to more then 100 schools and performed before more than 80,000 high school students.
This free program, designed by musicians, directly addresses the needs of disenfranchised students by reinforcing the notion that self-motivation positively impacts personal satisfaction and fulfillment; and that the acceptance of personal responsibility leads to more intuitive and positive decision making. Further, students with even a peripheral interest in music are shown alternate career paths within the industry.

Instrument Drive
Community involved musical instrument collection for redistribution to local schools. We are proud that this out reach has placed more than $100,000 worth of refurbished instruments in needy schools.

Music is Hope
Music based programming to assist in local not-for-profit fund raising efforts. In 2005 Music is Art released Music Is Hope a CD to help raise funds for Summit Academy, a facility specializing in the needs of developmentally challenged children focusing on Autism.

Event Programming
Co-production of community based events such as Rockin at the Knox, a fund raiser for the world renown Albright-Knox art gallery, and Party for the Parks, which helps raise money for the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy.

Music is Art Festival
Now entering its fourth year our festival has grown from 3,500 curiosity seekers to 75,000 fans from throughout Western New York and Southern Ontario. The festival features the finalists of a Teen Battle of the Bands; an event organized through schools. 05 saw a rare first as Robby Takac of the Goo Goo Dolls performed live with students from a local high school. The festival also features a Kids Zone.

Teen Battle of the Bands

Every year Music is Art sponsors a teen talent search. We provide schools with all the materials needed to produce their very own Battle of the Bands. These events are student run and are used to raise money for various charities. At the end of the school year MiA stages a "Final Battle." The prizes include recording time and a chance to headline the Music is Art Festival. 2006 Teen Band of the Year Charles Wants to Kiss You Goodbye is putting the finishing touches their EP and has been invited to perform at St. Bonaventure College, The Albright Knox Art Gallery.
