Many students are interested in jobs in the music industry, but lack a way to learn about the field.
The Music in Action program teaches students music industry skills and attitude training in an intensive course taking place over an entire school year.
The program aims to reach youths primarily in under-served districts throughout the WNY region.
The course features a mix of high tech tools, recording studio and radio workshops, field trips and live video-conferences with music industry insiders.
The year culminates in the release of a student artists CD at a concert – all produced by the student team.

"Paper Souls" was developed by the Music in Action team at Lewiston Porter High School during the 2010-2011 school year and includes a range of styles produced by Music in Action's program leader, Bob James, with the help from GCRAudio's Justin Rose and a LewPort student-producer, Ryan Ankenbauer. The cover art was designed by Rob Minicucci, who graduated from LewPort last June. Click on the image to the right to hear these amazing tracks now!
