Supporter Spotlight
MiA owes its success to the many Board Members, Sponsors, and Volunteers we have in the community. We thank them them for their continued support and inspiration!

Meet our MiA Backstage Honorees!
Fred Heuer's support of MiA has helped us access and bring our programs to a growing swath of Niagara County. It was Fred who ensured that Niagara University became a MiA Festival sponsor, starting a relationship that's going on its fourth year. He continues to be a driving force in the MiA High School Battle of the Bands for Niagara County held annually on NU campus. The event gives students a chance to perform infront of their peers and the winner earns a spot on a MiA Fest stage. One of Fred's most memorable and unique events was the 2009 MiA at NU concert. It featured 15 local bands in conjunction with an art exhibition at NU's Castellani Museum featuring the work of Jed Jackson, the artist who did the cover for The Goo Goo Dolls album, JED. Right now, Fred's involved in our Niagara County Instrument Drive, and he shows no signs of slowing down. Thank you Fred, for sharing your passion for MiA with your community!

Dom announcing this year's concert line-up!
Meet the Vice President of our Board of Directors, Phil Aguglia. Aguglia first came on the scene at our annual Battle of the Bands. His students took first prize, earning a private class from The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, who they opened for at the Mardi Gras Jam. Aguglia saw how his students benefited from the experience, so he entered more of them in MiA Battles and began looking for additional ways to work with us. The evolution from participant to VP happened quickly, which is just how Aguglia likes to operate. When we told him of an opportunity to work with the Buffalo Inner Harbor, he took the reigns and put together our first Summer Student Showcase, attracting over 1,000 people and 400 students from 30 schools to the Inner Harbor for the performance. Thank you Phil, we're looking forward to a long partnership with you!
We're thrilled to be the Hard Rock Cafe's Outdoor Summer Concert Series Charity Partner for the 2nd consecutive year. The gig gets us visibility, a generous donation and the proceeds from a weekly guitar raffle, all of which help us continue to fulfill our mission and all of which we enjoy because of Dominic Verni. But Dom's generosity extends beyond MiA to all of Niagara Falls. He was a huge supporter of our Niagara Falls Instrument Drive, making the Hard Rock Cafe an official MiA Instrument Donation Center. Dom has also shared his time and expertise as a judge in our annual Battle of the Bands. So cheers to Dom and the entire staff at the Hard Rock for supporting local music, local charity and local students!
