Music is Art is proud to foster a connection between our community and the artists of New Orleans and Louisiana through The Big Easy in Buffalo.
The series brings New Orleans and Louisiana bands to the area for in-school music education, cultural programs and public concerts, and is centered around the annual Mardi Gras Jam.
The program started as a collaboration between MiA, the Niagara Erie Regional Coalition, and the Buffalo Niagara Convention & Visitors Bureau.

5th Annual Big Easy in Buffalo Mardi Gras Jam
Headlining the February 17 concert will be Tab Benoit's Swampland Jam featuring Cyril Neville, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux and Waylon Thibodeaux. Also appearing will be "New Orleans' premier washboard-sousaphone-guitar trio" The Tin Men, and Buffalo's own county-rock-honkey tonk band The Steam Donkeys, and the winner of the student battle of the bands, the Brass Monkeez.
